Meeting Minutes

March 15, 2002 Executive Committee Meeting

Present: Bahu, Berlin, Conway, Dachman, Feinstein, Grant, Kalbhen, Melian, Petasnick, Stull, Vade, Vyborny

The meeting was called to order at 4:15 P.M. in the Council Room of the Standard Club.

Secretary/Treasurer Report

The minutes of the February 21, 2002 meeting were approved as submitted. The financial reports of February 1 - February 28, 2001 were reviewed. Income and expense items were as expected.

Program Committee Report

Four of the main speakers for next year's schedule have been selected. The CRS meetings in April and November 2003 will be on April 24 instead of April 17 and November 14 instead of November 21.

Vendor Support Ad Hoc Committee

A sponsor page has been added to the CRS web site. The Committee discussed strategies for increasing vendor support next year.

Golf Outing

This years golf outing is scheduled for June 27th at the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort. Information regarding the outing, including the registration form, are available at the CRS web site.

Illinois Radiological Society Report

The First Annual Meeting of the Illinois Radiological Society, "Preparing Your Practice for the Future" will be held May 18th and 19th, 2002 at the Westin River North Hotel in Chicago. The Executive Committee of the IRS will meet at that time rather than in April. On line registration on the IRS web site will be possible by going to "Meetings" and then to "Conference" and then to "Register".

Resident Section Report

Dr. Bahu had reported that Dr. Tamar Ben-Ami will speak on "Pediatric Chest Sonography" this afternoon.

Old Business

The Bacon and Hedland proposal for administrative services for CRS was discussed. The proposal by the Standard Club for hosting next year's meetings was carefully reviewed.

Distinguished Service Award

Dr. Vyborny announced that Dr. Robert Cavallino would be awarded the Gold Medal of the Chicago Radiological Society after dinner.

Having no further business, the Executive Committee adjourned at 5:00 PM.

Dinner was served to 64 people. While desert was being served, Dr. Vyborny conducted a brief business meeting. He also introduced former winners of the Distinguished Service Award (Gold Medal) of the Chicago Radiological Society who were in attendance. Dr. Robert Cavallino was then awarded the Gold Medal of the Society and spoke briefly to the members present. Dr. Vyborny then introduced Dr. Ellen Mendelson who in turn introduced Dr. Edward Hendrick, who gave the lecture "Update on Digital Mammography".
